During Oktoberfest (mid-September to early October), half of Germany — and seemingly half the world — travels to Munich. Landing at Frankfurt Airport, you have three ways to the Wiesn.
ICE: Full, but Fast
Direct trains take about 3 hours 10 minutes to Munich Hauptbahnhof. During Wiesn season the rule is: reserve a seat or stand — trains are packed and flexible fares climb steeply.
Private Transfer: The Group Option
For four or five people, the fixed price quickly stacks up well against four flexible ICE tickets — and you travel with luggage, Dirndl, and Lederhosen straight to the hotel. Details on the Frankfurt Airport to Munich Airport route; we naturally serve any city address too.
The Wiesn does not start at the beer tent — it starts with how relaxed you arrive.
Domestic Flight: Only with Buffer
FRA–MUC flies in an hour, but Wiesn-season fares are steep and Munich Airport sits 35 km outside the city. Door-to-door, the flight rarely wins.
Practical Wiesn Tips
- Book Munich hotels early — or stay in Augsburg/Ingolstadt instead.
- Do not schedule the return trip on the final Wiesn evening.
- For company groups we coordinate multiple vehicles — see airport-to-airport transfers or enquire directly.
