Frankfurt is one of the world's great trade fair cities: Buchmesse, Ambiente, Light + Building, Automechanika, ISH. Tens of thousands arrive through the airport for these dates — and that is exactly when the transfer to the Messe becomes the bottleneck.
The Route
The exhibition grounds lie about 14 km from the airport, on the western edge of the city centre. By car it takes 15–30 minutes depending on traffic; during fair rush hours (8–10 am) often more.
Why Pre-Booking Matters During Fairs
During major fairs, taxis at the airport and the Messe disappear fast, and on-demand ride prices climb with demand. A pre-booked fixed-price transfer sidesteps both: your driver waits in the arrivals hall, and the price was set before you even took off.
At a trade fair, first impressions count — and they start in the arrivals hall, not at the taxi rank.
Tips for Exhibitors
- Booth teams & material: for teams with crates and roll-ups, a van fits up to 7 people plus equipment — see our fleet.
- Fix the return transfer: when the fair closes at 6 pm, everyone leaves at once. A fixed pickup time at the Messe entrance beats the queue.
- Company invoices: we issue invoices with all details needed for expense reports.
Bottom Line
The short distance is deceptive: during fair season, planning decides between stress and comfort. Book outbound and return together as soon as your flights are fixed.
