Parking at Frankfurt Airport is plentiful but the right choice depends on how long you are away and which terminal you use. Here is how the options compare in 2026 — and when leaving the car at home makes more sense.
Short-Stay Parking
The multi-storey garages right by the terminals are ideal for drop-offs, pick-ups and short trips. They are the most convenient and the most expensive per hour, so they suit hours rather than days.
Long-Stay and Economy (P+R)
For trips of several days, the long-stay and economy "Park + Ride" lots are far cheaper. They sit a little further out with a shuttle to the terminals, so factor in transfer time. Booking online in advance almost always beats the drive-up rate.
Valet and Premium
Valet parking lets you hand over the car at the terminal and collect it on return — convenient if you are short on time or travelling with family and luggage. Premium spaces closer to the entrances cost more but save walking.
Don't Forget the Terminal Change
With Terminal 3 now open at the far end of the airport, where you park matters more than it used to.
Terminal 3 is at the opposite end of the airfield from Terminals 1 and 2. Make sure you park for the right terminal, or allow time for the SkyLine train between them — see our complete airport guide.
When a Transfer Beats Parking
For a week-long trip, airport parking adds up fast — and you still drive in tired and out jet-lagged. A round-trip private transfer can cost less than a week of parking, with no driving, no fuel and no walk from a distant lot. We compare this in our parking vs transfer guide; see routes and pricing.
Quick Tips
- Book parking online in advance for the best rate.
- Match your lot to your terminal (T1 vs T3).
- For longer trips, compare the total against a round-trip transfer.
