If you have an early departure, a late arrival, or a long layover, sleeping near Frankfurt Airport beats fighting the morning commute. With Terminal 3 now open, the airport's accommodation falls into three useful groups: directly connected, a short shuttle away, and budget options nearby. Here is how to choose in 2026.
Connected to the Terminals
For zero-stress mornings, nothing beats a hotel you can walk to. The Sheraton Frankfurt Airport connects directly to Terminal 1, and the Hilton Frankfurt Airport and Hilton Garden Inn sit inside The Squaire above the long-distance railway station, a covered walk from Terminal 1. These are the picks when every minute of sleep counts.
A Short Shuttle Away
Just off the airport, the Steigenberger Airport Hotel, NH Frankfurt Airport, Moxy Frankfurt Airport and Element Frankfurt Airport offer more choice and often better value, with free or cheap shuttles. They suit travellers who want a quieter night or a pool and gym before a long-haul flight.
Getting Between Terminals
Remember that Terminal 3 is at the opposite end of the airfield from Terminals 1 and 2, linked by the free SkyLine train (every couple of minutes, up to a 10-minute ride). If your hotel is near T1 but you fly from T3, build in 20–30 minutes to transfer. Our terminals guide explains the layout.
