The Frankfurt Book Fair (Frankfurter Buchmesse) is the world's largest publishing event, and it turns the city into one of its busiest weeks of the year. If you are attending the 2026 edition, planning your airport transport early is the single best thing you can do.
Frankfurt Book Fair 2026: Dates
The 2026 Book Fair runs from 7 to 11 October 2026 at Messe Frankfurt, with Czechia as the Guest of Honour. It draws hundreds of thousands of visitors and thousands of exhibitors, so flights, hotels and taxis are all in heavy demand that week.
Getting from the Airport to Messe Frankfurt
Messe Frankfurt is around 12 km from Frankfurt Airport — roughly 15–20 minutes by car outside peak times. A fixed-price private transfer takes you door-to-door to your hotel or straight to the fairground, with your driver meeting you in arrivals. See our airport-to-Messe guide.
Avoid the Post-Show Crush
When 300,000 people share one fair, the taxi rank at closing time is not where you want to be.
Book Fair days end with huge crowds heading for transport at once. A pre-booked transfer with a set pickup point and time skips the queue entirely — a real advantage after a long day of meetings.
Pricing
Airport-to-Messe transfers are fixed-price from €45 for the standard car, with Business Class and Business Vans for groups. The price is agreed before you travel and does not surge during the fair. See all routes and pricing.
Plan Ahead
- Book your transfer and hotel as early as possible — both spike during the fair.
- Travelling as a publishing team? A Business Van keeps you together with your materials.
- Confirm your terminal — most international arrivals now use Terminal 1 or the new Terminal 3.
