Stuttgart — home of Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and one of Germany's strongest business regions — lies around 210 km south of Frankfurt Airport. For business travellers and trade fair visitors, this route is routine. Here are the options.
Private Transfer: Around 2 Hours
Via the A5 and A8 (or A67/A6 depending on traffic), a private transfer takes around 2 to 2.5 hours to central Stuttgart. Your driver picks the fastest route in real time — if the A8 jams, they reroute automatically.
- Cost: fixed price from €192
- Pickup: arrivals hall at T1 or T3, with a name board
- Destinations: city centre, Messe Stuttgart, Daimler/Porsche plants, surrounding region
ICE: Fast to the Hauptbahnhof
Direct ICE trains from the long-distance station to Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof take approximately 1 hour 20 minutes and cost €25–€70. For travellers heading near the station, this is the fastest option. Note: from Terminal 3, add the SkyLine ride to the station.
Watch Out for Trade Fair Dates
During major fairs (R+T, AMB, and others), hotels and taxis in Stuttgart get scarce. A pre-booked return transfer to Frankfurt Airport saves you hunting for a taxi at the exhibition grounds.
Our Recommendation
Heading right next to the Hauptbahnhof: take the ICE. With luggage, in a team, or with meetings outside the centre: private transfer at a fixed price. We also serve Stuttgart Airport (STR) directly — useful for flight cancellations or separate bookings. More fixed-price routes across the country are on the Germany transfers page.
