With its trade fairs (Medica, drupa, boot), the Königsallee, and Europe's largest Japanese quarter, Düsseldorf is one of the most common business destinations from Frankfurt Airport.
Private Transfer: About 2 Hours
Via the A3 the drive takes around 2 to 2.5 hours — door to door, no changes. Fixed prices start at €592 (up to 3 passengers); the Frankfurt Airport to Düsseldorf Airport route also serves DUS directly — handy for separate bookings.
ICE: Fast, but Station-to-Station
Direct ICE trains reach Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof in about 1.5 hours (€35–€90). Heading to the Messe or a suburb? You will still need a taxi or local train — with queues during fair season.
The A3 along the Rhine is the artery between Germany's two big business regions — and our most-driven long route heading north.
Tip for Trade Fair Visitors
During Medica and co., Düsseldorf hotels are expensive and full — many exhibitors stay in Cologne instead. There is a route for that too: the Cologne transfer takes only about 15 minutes less. All airport connections are under airport-to-airport.
Our Recommendation
Solo with a destination near the Hauptbahnhof: ICE. Teams, exhibition luggage, or addresses outside the centre: fixed-price private transfer — especially during fair season the most reliable option.
