With long waits and a big hub, a lounge can transform your time at Frankfurt Airport. The lounge map shifted in 2026 as Terminal 3 opened, so here is the current picture and how to get in.
Terminal 1: The Lufthansa Heartland
Terminal 1 has the deepest lounge offering at FRA, centred on Lufthansa and Star Alliance:
- Lufthansa First Class Terminal: a separate building with legendary service for Lufthansa First and HON Circle members — arguably the best first-class experience in aviation.
- Senator and Business lounges: for Star Alliance Gold and business-class passengers across the concourses.
- Star Alliance and partner lounges round out the choice.
Terminal 3: The New Lounges
The new Terminal 3 opened with lounges in the non-Schengen area, including a SkyTeam Lounge, an Emirates Lounge and a Priority Pass-style lounge, with more (such as an Air France Schengen lounge) being added. As the terminal beds in, expect the line-up to expand.
How to Get In
- Premium cabin: business or first class usually includes lounge access.
- Status: Star Alliance Gold (T1) or SkyTeam Elite Plus (T3) opens partner lounges.
- Lounge memberships: Priority Pass and similar cover participating lounges.
- Pay-per-use: some lounges sell day passes when capacity allows.
Is It Worth It?
On a long-haul departure or a multi-hour layover, a lounge pays for itself in calm alone.
For early departures, long-haul flights or layovers, a lounge is well worth it. For a quick Schengen hop, it may not be — note that Terminal 3's Schengen lounge options were still limited at launch.
Getting to Your Terminal
Confirm whether you fly from T1 or T3, since the lounges differ. A pre-booked transfer drops you at the right terminal with time to enjoy the lounge — see our business traveller tips and routes.
